“The time has come,” the Walrus said, to talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–and whether pigs have wings.” —Lewis Carroll
Take those shoes and stroll the sidewalks of Downtown Hot Springs tonight—it’s Gallery Walk! Don’t forget to sail on over to The Hamp Williams Building on the 6th for a good cause, supporting the Ouachita Children’s Center at the Annual Krewe of Liberi Ball and Coronation or take your Krewe on over to Oaklawn on the 9th and you can talk of kings—Mardi Gras kings of course. Perhaps that hidden clue that solves the case to the Murder and Macabre Mystery Dinner Theatre is sealed in an envelope with sealing wax, hidden in the library behind the pipe wrench! Don’t expect cabbages to be the fare at Vina Morita’s Grand Reopening treat yourself to gastronomic delicacies to delight your palate as they celebrate the opening of their new home!
So hey there all y’all, there’s a load going on in the city from jazz events to volleyball, the Heart Ball, and Van Davis Memorial 5k—there’re theatre and concert events—the season is ramping up to a fantastic year of fun and good times. Be of good cheer and point your patrons in the direction of something that interests them…something for everyone out there—I begin to believe that’s Hot Springs’ primary modus operandi—how extraordinary to live in a place where there might well indeed be something for everyone if you turn each stone, or crystal as the case may be.
And remember gentle reader, should you ever be asked, “Why is a raven like a writing desk?” The answer is simple, “I haven’t the slightest idea.”
Levity and nonsense that’s what’s needed ‘round here today!
